In autograss racing (our chosen sport) there are racers who have
the fiat ciqucento with TWO 1500cc hyabusa engines in the back.

Seen a Westfield with twin busa engines at Prescott hillclimb. That was ferkin mental! They only weigh about the same as a bag of crisps, with 3 litres of bike engines!

The engine u have is more than likely one of these

Wouldnt be a bad little engine to throw in, people have been dropping FJ1200 engines in buggys and little cars for ages, the engines are basically the same apart from the FJ's an air cooled unit... They both pump out 100bhp and are good for 75 to 80 lbs of torque ....

The likes of the R1 engines and them that u see gettin dropped in minis and all that have way more bhp (round the 180bhp mark) but still only have about 80-85 lbs of torque, so the CBRs 70 odd lbs would well be sufficient, it would be better than what u have in there now

Go on , just do it I have been around bike engined cars for a while now and the only thing I would say is that the CBR 1000 is not a engine that is usually used. The most popular are the Hayabusa - 179 bhp in standard form!(the dearest of 'em) - the R1, CBR 1100 Blackbird (needs dry sump), Fireblade (various models), ZZR 1200 (needs dry sump), but some others have been used.
You have to think of power to weight and that's why most of these go into a light kit car.

I have a Hayabusa powered kit car, and it's performance is outstanding - will make a lot of very expensive performance cars look silly!!

Have a look here too www.zcars.org.uk

                      Cheers, Nick
