I used to run on a high veg mix so not overy worried what i put in the tank, just annoyed for doing it by mistake. initial thought was would it strip the cylinder lining but its such a small percentage it should not make any difference as others on here have said.
Im more concerned that I have still not found a garage in Kent to fix the ADD system on the surf, im seriously considering taking it all the way up to LA Supertruck as they seem to be the only / nearest recomended garage that would do it. There a long treck from Folkestone Kent but hey ho. Only problem with taking the truck there is it will leave at least 2 inches higher!If it can be broken it can be fixed

problem is its not engaging / dissengaging the 4wd system. the lights on the dash keep flashing but i cant find the fault. It spent a week in a jap import garage but they also could not identify the fault. I have been told its most likley the ADD ECU but not sure.
Cant find a toyota garage near me that will look at imports. My local garage that services it is great but not got diagnosis equip or knowledge of surfs.If it can be broken it can be fixed

Just been reading your threads about your ADD problem. Just sounds like dirty or corroded contacts or terminals on a switch, or maybe a lack of lubrication in the actuator on the T/case or diff. You say that the fault was there when you first go the truck and the problem is intermitant so I wouldn't have thought it's the ADD ECU.
If only you lived nearer.
I should have a schematic of the 3rd gen ADD system, I'll have a look and post it on here tomorrow.

I have a horrible feeling they put it back together wrong as it feels different to drive!
If i could get hold of all the info my usual garage should be able to do it. Worst case i do it myself but its cold outside and i dont have a warm garage with space to work in.

Have you or the garage checked the two vacuum relays inside the engine bay???
I’m not sure what the 3rd Gen system is like, but with the 2nd Gen there are two relays in the engine bay with pipes attached going down to the front diff. At any one time only one of the relays will be open and allowing vacuum to pull the ADD system either on or off. Moving the lever in the cab sends an electrical current to the other relay which diverts the vacuum down the other pipe.
My Surf (2nd Gen 3:0 V6) had a problem with one of the ADD / relays when I bought it. The truck would come out of 4x4 but the front prop was not disengaging. Not a real problem, just meant that there was extra drag and possible wear & tear in having the front prop turning when in rear wheel drive.
I traced the problem down to one of the vac relays. I got hold of a large 50ml syringe from work and with the engine off applied suction to either pipe. I found one pipe locked the ADD and the other freed it (just reached under the truck to see if the prop turned or not). I picked up a spare set of relays from someone on here which fixed the problem.
If it turns out to be the same sort of problem, you could keep a syringe in the Surf to pull the ADD on/off while you track down a replacement relay set.
