began to overheat on entering the motorway, kept moving to keep air through the rad, and the temp didn't come back down, pulled over topped up the water and carried on, turbo began to rattle like a bag of nails, began to smoke heavily from exhaust, lost power then stalled, about 8 miles after the initial problems. Stopped on the hard shoulder, and it appeared to drop the entire contents of the sump over the motorway, popped the bonnet and the turbo was glowing bright red.
I haven't really looked any further at it, but don't hold out much hope of being able to resurrect it for less than what it'd be worth after the works done.
So even if it's not completely dead euthanasia seems more humane.
