  • Newbie from Plymouth - 2.4TD 1992

    Hi,

Just joined today as we collect our first ever Surf tomorrow.

My wife has been hassling me for a vehicle suitable for towing a horse box and, not being of the "Disco" crowd, I wanted something different and exciting to drive within my limited budget. After various test drives of different machines, we decided to go for the Surf and then it was just a case of waiting for the right one at the right price.

So tomorrow we go to collect a 2.4TD 1992 (imported 2005), 142K KM. It had a new head in 2006, so hopefully should all be good now.

What other things should we look out for?

Also, we need to get a towbar for it so will be looking in the "Parts for Sale" forum.....

Looking forward to getting involved in the Surf world. :-)

Welcome along catweazle. Don't be scared to ask any questions, and be prepared for the banter. It may not be funny, but it's supposed to be

And a big thank you for paying the subs before even posting. You're a hero.

                  Welcome aboard mate.

If you don't find a tow bar on the forum, try roughtrax for your surfing needs.

                            hi and welcome.
If you want some good off roading then keep an eye out in the off roading section as supersurf comes down here a fair bit to play in the mud and a good day out

                              welcome mate,
will be going to baldhu hopefully on sunday the 15th february if you want to see what the truck is capable of mate,
i would suggest that if you are intending to use the truck for towing get a switch installed to activate the electric fan at the front as the surfs do tend to get a little warm when towing,
will save you boiling her over,
i also have an abundance of spares if you need anything,
as kevin said im in mutley plain behind dameralls the bike shop,
pop in next time your passing and have a coffee,
