Loads of the lads up here have them on there trucks, as long as it's kept clean and visible from directly in front of vehicle I can't see plod being too upset about it.

its illegal, but u prob won't get pulled unless you go into a big city centre,as alot of the traffic police have number plate recognition cameras, and yes it also flags up if it cant see a reg

And if you really want one, I can do one for you. I have the proper UK number plate typeface.

I have run about with my SHOW plate on my bonnet for ages now and never once been pulled, cops are to busy checking the motor out like little kids, either that or looking for things wrong with it

Just a thought - is it illegal to have the licence displayed twice? Then you could have a conventional and a sticky, and either take off the conventional when it might get broken or, if it gets broken, you've at least still got the sticky?

Or am I coming at this from the wrong angle trying to remain as legal as possible, instead of bending the law as far as possible??

Surely the only time you'd take the 'conventional' off would be when you're offroad and hence don't need one anyway.

Do you really need a front no plate when your off road?, take it off when you get there and stick it back on before you leave

Im going to take MattFs place and be pedantic for a moment...

Being able to remove the front number plate is fine for pay and play sites. However places like salisbury plains are still 'roads' as such an would need a number plate on show...

Would anyone care if you didn't have one?!?!

I reeeeeeaaaallly doubt it!! I was crusing around Romsey with no front number plate for a week after the xmas run.

                              being pedantic... Done!
