Old girl has now racked up 172008 miles and passed her MOT first time a few weeks back...................

Needed an exhaust since my last report, that is about it. Rear window is still playing silly buggers, but I can live with that.

Many thanks for resurrecting this thread as the general has recently developed a rumble at the front near side which meant an afternoon in the pit looking at it in a puzzled fashion and wiggling bits but at least now thanks to finding this my suspicions have been confirmed. Lucky I looked as I also found a rather wobbly UJ near the rear of the drive shaft and a knackered bush on the near side steering arm bit (not the track/tie rod end but the bit above, i'm afraid I don't know what it is called)

If only i'd noticed before the vat increase.

      Cheers
      Paul

I`m going to treat her to a new f/n/s wing soon and some new rear springs. On that note, are standard springs ok or should I go for uprated ones?

Not bothered about appearance, she is a work horse, does a lot of off road and is getting a saggy bum.

She has a new wing and new springs. And just keeps going, I promised myself a better motor last year, but why change when all is well.

May need new calipers soon though.

Been an expensive year, but the engine is sweet as a nut, changing for something newer would cost me a lot of money. She has never let me down and gets me where I need to go, so I decided to spend on it rather than getting something that may need the same work doing in the future.

            List of new parts fitted

            Calipers
            Pads
            discs
            bearings
            CV gaiters
            drop links (front)
ball joints (all four fitted, with grease nipples)
            steering idler

            Regular maintanence

            Oil and filter x 3
greased all running gear with synthetic grease
            gearbox oil change
both diffs oil change ( proper lsd oil in the rear)
Rad flush and refill with new mix.

The AT2s still look like new treadwise and seem a pretty good choice.

Got plans to change the whole rear window, dumping the mechanism and making it a manual affair.
