4th gen

Hi all,

As my son has now persuaded me to hand over my Surf to him I am on the search for a 4th gen.

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy one in Scotland or possibly not too far over the border? Are there any issues I should look out for with the 4th gen?

Don't know of anybody on here that's got one to comment about it.

Be interested to know myself, to see if they are as good as the 3rd gens.

You'll probably be looking at £15,000 for a 4th gen.


I've seen them in the Uk but im right next to the docks so who knows where they are now!!

They go up to $30,000.

The one in the link would be around £15,000 just to buy it.

chances are you'll be looking around £18-19,000 to get one in the Uk an on the road. You wont get the nasty 22% tax that a pickup would but as its newer then 10 years you'll need an SVA which dependant on the trucks spec could cost around £3000...

That was just a facelift 3rd gen mate.


From i think 98-99?! to 01 the 3rd gen got chrome bumpers a snazzy grille an a 4 spoke steering wheel.

Must admit i do like the look of that but i would never be able to treat it like my 3rd gen, not that i abuse it, its just that its a bit too new & shiney + the price is way out of my buget, maybe in 10 years time when the're a bit cheaper & there's loads about.

First one I have seen. First impression I don't like it but it does have a 4.0L V6 FI DOHC 24V. Mmmmmm.

Just had a look on here & it appears that they don't do a dyno version, just the 4,0 & 4.7.
