Hello,
my last post seems to have disappeared - hopefully it's in the "system" somewhere
I was hoping somebody could explain my factory fitted alarm to me - I've got a 1995 3.0TD 4Runner GX and the RCL key fob has two buttons, a red one and a black one. The Black one locks it and unlocks it, but the red one just seems to turn the hazard lights on - what's it for? Thinking about it, I haven't tried locking it and then pressing the red button - perhaps that's what I should do?
Another thing I've just thought of; I've owned two 2.4TD automatic Surf's in the past - this is my first manual. The gearstick for the transfer box is a little more involved than the automatic version - why does it have an "N" position (I presume for neutral?) - Why would you possibly want to put the transfer box in neutral?
I've just thought of another thing to ask What is the turbo light on the dashboard trying to tell me? I seem to remember one of my old 2.4TD's lighting the turbo light up green when the turbo kicked in (you could hear it starting to whistle) This 4Runner lights it up red before you start the engine and then it never comes on again - what does it all mean? I can hear the turbo whistling and there's so much power in this 3 litre engine, I'm in no doubt it's all working as intended...
If anybody knows how it all works, I'd love to share in your knowledge
Thanks,
Paul
