So, Gordon has been asked to bail out Jag & L.R., but, these are the very motors he is trying to tax OFF the U.K.'s roads, AND, the owner's are an Indian (TATA) company, why can't they finanace their own plants? I know it will mean big job losses here, but why do I have to pay?. My own job is under threat right now!! and I'm on way less than average pay, and I can't claim any benifits.

India's rich are mega rich, they keep it for them selves, the poor are very poor, and they work for the rich!!!! look at the Indian coast line on google earth and it will show all the scrap ships we used to own, polluting the world.
Why should we (you and I) bail them out?If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

Trouble is, most of the banks are at least partly foreign owned. We bailed them out without a second thought. 75'000 jobs could go if Jaguar / Land Rover went to the wall. Thats 75'000 more families on benefits - which has to come from the tax payer.
What about a large loan to keep them going? Sounds like a good idea doesn't it? However, the VERY BANKS the govt gave tax payers money to WONT HELP! As far as I'm concerned, they should be forced to help. They've got OUR money, we should be able to tell them what to do with it! As it is, it will probably find its way into board members pockets next time we blink.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

The problem will snowball if Jaguar and Land-rover go under, if you think about it there is a very select few suppliers for the motor industry, the same suppliers also supply Nissan, Honda and Toyota, so if Jaguar and Land-rover go under, so do the suppliers and that will mean that Nissan, Honda and Toyota will not get parts to build cars and when they finally get parts, supplied and shipped from Japan!!!, there will be no dealerships left to sell the cars to the public, cuz they too will have gone to the wall.Roy

accept what is don't fight it chances are its What you have been doing (the comfortable rut)that has stopped you doing what you would like to do . life changes loosing your job can be bad shit loosing you home is even wars (iv been there ) but you need one door to close before another one can open . stuff is just stuff its not you and once the staff has lost its novelty value then its not even staff you wont anymore .i wish every one all the best and i hope we all have a great new year .Last edited by steve s; 20 December 2008, 22:28.

going self employed is not a problem, but make sure you do what you enjoy doing and have some pride in it, otherwise it just becomes another chore that will start to grate and then the enthusiasm will start to wane and so starts the downward spiral, the only set back is the tax and ni.
