    say hello
    names Gary

I just purchased a 93 Surf SSXR for the princely sum of 100 notes I normally drive a slightly modded grand cherokee, but this was an offer to good to refuse

the previous owner drove it halfway to scotlandshire in 4wd, which is not good

anyways, there is an awful vibration coming from the front diff area, so when it finally stops persisting down, It's out with the spanners

    93 Surf 2.4
    97 Grand Cherokee 2.5 tdi
    98 Cherokee 4.0 ltr (hers)
    95 Cherokee 4.0 ltr (offroader)

As old toxic arse said, welcome to the nuthouse

Please forgive us for the yeti - we have tried housetraining him but so far no luck.

Make yourself at home and feel free to join in the banter.

It'll be the transfer case thats shagged 'cos it's chain driven, maybe the front diff. too.

                    Oops, where are my manners?

Welcome, sounds like its properly wound up, mine wound up on a trip to the local shops, had to lift all wheels off the deck and keep running through the range and enentually "bang" it disengaged,

I fink the diff is toast, there's a leccy switch type thing, hanging down, that I'm sure should be connected somewhere , but its been smashed out

it still hasn't stopped raining here & tomorrow is supposed to be better

                              Welcome to the forum.

I have always liked the looks of the Jeep Cherokee and I did look at a few before buying the Surf. Must say that I was a bit disappointed at the interior, especially the lack of comfort of the seats.
What is the MPG like on the 4:0 Cherokee? Can’t be much worse than my V6 Surf @ 16 mpg
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL
