What would be a realistic figure to expect for the insurance payout for my Surf?

Rob - can you let me know what is happening to your damaged Surf? If you aren't going to (or able to) get it fixed up, I would maybe take some (very minor) bits from it, like the clock, the roof rack removable fittings, the front mirror bolt cover and maybe other bits. Sorry for being a vampire, but just thought I'd mention it.

I won't be buying it back from the insurance company.

Willdo, good 3rd gens are like hens teeth at the moment, wouldn't mind another one,but being self employed I am leaning towards getting a double cab pick up (purely for tax reasons).Torn between Toyota Hilux,Mazda BT50,and Mitsubishi L200 Warrior. The insurance company have offered me £3000 for the Surf, which I have accepted.

Sounds like a fair deal in the current market Rob. I would avoid the mitsi - everyone seems to have nothing but bad things to say about them.

You might want to drop Antshiel a PM mate as i believe his 3rd gen will be coming up for sale shortly. Decent lift on it already too
