how big of a lift do i need to have to fit a set of 35x12.5s under my surf?

2inch body lift and a landcruiser springs + (outrageous top hats), ball joint spacers , manual locking hubs ...........then ask rod leach

5" should be enough to fit the 35's onto.
Think ya self lucky i got to go 6" suspension and 3" body to fit my new wheels/tyres

Depends on use mate.

Ive got +2" coils and 2" coil spacers aswell as1.5" ball joint spacers and wound torsion bars.

On top of that is a 1.5" body lift.

I had to beat the arches out an on the left i get a tiny bit of rubbing on full lock an the right rubs more because i didnt beat enough out.

But it wont flex for sh!t.

a 35" tyre is just too big to go into a surf arch without major trimming.

It looks bl**dy awesome!!!

6" lift is recommended for 35's but you'll never get the flex.

Thats assuming its all 35x12.50's

If you got a set wider tyres then its taller still. 7"+

Easy going stuff! Mud obviously isn't a problem!! But anything mega flexy will see you with problems.

One option is to limit the flex but then it defeats the point off it really.

The front lift is only 5" an the rear is 5.5"

But its the 5" thats the most important. If you only fit ball joint spacers or tweak the torsion bars an fit a 2" body lift then your looking at 3.5-4" lift max.

you'll need the ball joint spacers and the torsion bars wound to make it work good on the street..

they will never work great off road without modification to the arches because they just dont really fit in them.
