Never fails to amaze me how the government NEVER miss's an oppertunity to shaft a bit of cash out the ordinary bloke, just paid a bill from parcelforce for £16 odd consisting of £8 vat and £8 handleing charge for the two model hilux's i bought from the us, bstds

Aye but it still annoys, the model i got from tiawan did'nt get charged vat on or clearance fee, he did mark the package as "second hand model kit" tho, thought that was what made the difference

I've only been charged twice

Once for the white gauges (most of us got hit there)

The other when that damn first LED light bar was returned back to me

I think it all depends on what part of the country you live in, 'cos I've never been charged import duty on stuff I've ordered from the USA.
One package contained 25 1 quart bottles ftype IV transmission fluid, (10 a litre over here!) so was quite heavy too.

I have bought loads of stuff from overseas. If the seller marks down the value over $50 or so, you will get charger vat + parcelforce fee etc, it can add a load onto the price. I won't say here what to do, but it may be obvious

Should have got em via you Vince! oh well it's done now, it'll make me think twice about buying from the states tho, just ordered a lancruiser 80 series VX from south vietnam and there a nice hilux 4 cab but a bit dear at £45 + £12, started on me V6 tho, dropped the sus and made me own landcriuser springs for it
