My mate is hoping to take it to a kit car specialist up the road(where he works part time) Who apparently has all the proper testing gear, so hopefully i can trust his findings!

Just a thought, could it be your starter motor contacts....I had the same problem. Would jump start to get mine going but every now and then that did not work , I also bought a Jump start pack and killed that ..bought a new battery but that also drained ..... all to find it was the starter motor contacts, £30 ish in parts and 5hrs work for me

          Cheers

Can only put it down to the fact we do so many short journies!

Not sure what you call short journeys but all i do is about 2 miles to work and back every day it don't get a run out apart from probably once a month when it does a 8 mile trip, I've got a 2.4 SSRG with dual batteries and its never gone flat on me yet, if that helps.

that still doesnt add up mate, must be a drain on the electrics sumwhere, ask your mate in the garage if he can try an "amp clamp",when this is done it will show any current being pulled/used with ignition off,ie like an old alarm drawing current,or a knackered light sumwhere

Leave house, drive less than quarter mile, drop little-un at school, drive about quarter mile to work, come out of work, drive to town centre (less than half mile) Then drive home!

I went to a toyota dealer and they sorted all the bits out for around £30 all in. 2 contacts and a plunger.

                            Cheers Mark
