Would that have been fitted in conjunction with the rear suspension lift then?

Sorry for all the questions this is my first smurf & I keep finding things that raise questions, if you don't ask you wont learn.

        Cheers

          Tough one to answer really

Lots of mods take place with these vehicles, I feel for whoever buys mine should I ever sell it - it would be like a treasure chest!!

Sus, body lifts usually need an adjustable rod due to the changes to the geometry at the rear end...so quite likely it was done at the same time.

Is yours blue with a floppy white hat??

Yes it is, it keeps getting refered to as the smurf so the name has stuck now.

I would think if the suspension is raised the fixed length panhard would pull the body & rear axle out of alignment.

you will probably find out that the truck was lifted in Japan and when sold all the lift kit taken off until it came over here and modded by the new owner. The panhard rod was probably left on it in Japan

Correct. The higher the rear suspension is raised, the more the body shifts over towards the passenger side.
So and adjustable rod is required to lengthen it or a bracket to lower the rod to keep it as level as possible.

So, would you need this for a 2" body lift, to do the job right

if its just a body lift and no suspension lift you may well get away with not having the adjustable rod the same if you just have the suspension lift.If you have both then i would say yes its better to have the drop bracket or adjustable rod

If i was to modify the one i have, i would have to cut a left and right handed thread on the bar and on the sleave ? that way it could be adjusted on the truck ? i think the bar is 20mm so i have one tap and die, i may be able to do the small half on the lathe, Hmmm

either that or make up a drop bracket and keep the rod the same as it is

I'm quite into my machining at the moment, I've made the body lift blocks, rad dorp brackets and bumper drop brackets, going to make the front diff, arb dorp blocks and balljoint spacers next week, then I'm starting on a oil catch can, so in two weeks I'll have note to do.!

What did you make the body lift blocks out of? how much has it cost to make them? I'm in need of a set myself.
