  • Am i right in thinking???

am i right in thinking that if i get a rear 2" sus lift, and tickle the torsion bars up, i'd be able to fit 33's, at least well enough to use them onroad?

i ask as 3 of my 4 tyres are now illegal, i've put it off for soooo long. now i've got a sus lift sorted, i wanna put 33's on. if i can still drive it on road for a few weeks while i sort out a 1 1/2" body lift to get done as soon afterwards, i'll go for it. Then i can get back to playing in the mud!!!!!

who's the lovely gent on here who does the body lift kits, or are they better cheaper somewhere else??

anyone wanna fancy helping me fit said sus and bodylift (well i might aswell ask while i'm here)!

    cheers,

    Martin

stein is your man for the body lift kits.

as for using the torssion bars to lift it, they will lift the front just about but a sus lift will not lift the back high enough. in my opinion you need to get a body lift first to fit 33's or you will strugle

someone else will be along to explain

You definately need a body lift of AT LEAST 1.5" and a sus lift to get 33s on - and depending on the rims you put them on, you'll need to check the offset, or you'll be rubbing the edges when you turn, or mount a kerb.....go over a speed ramp, over a hole in the road...

So - not just the body and sus lift needed - you'll need at least 8" rims - better to go for 10", the standard 7" ones won't work, the tyres will keep falling off....
Too old to care, young enough to remember

Get a 2" body lift minimum if u are going for one. i have 1.5" body lift and that gives u the tiniest scrubbage at times. I have bashed body bits to make it clear but to save that ur as well getting the 2"

            Bl**dy naysayers!

2" will get 33's on for ROAD USE ONLY!!!!

An they will rub on everything like a horny man in a club packed with girls!!

It wont be nice but it might be better then getting shafted for having illegal tyres or having to fork out twice for a set.

8" wide rims will help no end in getting them on with only 2" of lift. If you run a set of 10" wide rims they will just smash into everything.

So, Your ok! Get them, fit them an get a 2" body lift on ASAP!!! It takes a few hours with basic tools an know how. Im sure a few lads on here would be up for going along an helping out.

Im really up for being a passenger. Im abit 50/50 about offroading it.

Im too precious about it. If i break anything or dent anything i'd be pi$$ed off.

Im sorting out an off road project for starting early next year
