need some advice on bio fuel , van broke own yesterday found out it was to do with fuel , ended up taking off fuel filter which was empty we then decided to take of fuel pipe to fill filter which is what we did and filled up a polystyrene cup , [now here is where i need the help ,]
the fuel burnt straight through the cup is this normal ??
spoke to maker of fuel who says this is normal , is it ? he also said diesel does this , i tried diesel today , it dont

why is hes fuel so acidic ?? can anyone tell me what he has done wrong with he's fuel
will speak with him again and would like to be able to tell him what he's done wrong whilst hes trying to bullshit me

it is supposed to be as similar to diesel as possible dave.not acidic etc.
either the ph balance is completely awry, or it has a lot of spiirit in it,ie petrol,methanol etc,this would melt through polystyrene, normal diesel will not.

Sounds to me (having not even done chemistry at school) like there's a lot of ethanol in it.

I have heard of people putting white spirit in with the veg oil to thin it a bit, I bet something similar has been added, ask the supplier.

So people are putting bio fuel in their vehicles but don't know what's in it, sounds risky to me, mind you filling up at the local petrol station has been a problem in the past causing vehicles to break down, we're too trusting.

yep filled it up diesel drove nearly two hundred miles today and it was fine ,

gwa & sancho, the bloke is a chemist, im trying to figure out if he was cutting corners notice it had a very pungent kind of smell so i guess you might be right with the ethanol / methanol answer cheers fellah's

if there is a load of spirit in there dave, it may have been a really dirty load he was treating, but it should have been washed and the catalyst(under pressure) should have removed most of the gunk as well.
it melting through a cup shows its ph balance is outside the bs standard,and yes he has phuqed up

cheers mate he usually washes he's stuff 6-7 times, if say he washed it once would this leave it like i described [fuc//// question marks fooked] i know he rushed that delivery my mate said it was still warm when he delivered ,

its impossible to say what he did dave, but he burgered it up thats for sure.
