Working nights at the moment and I got woken up at 10 this morning by the house phone ringing insistantly. When I answered it was my sister begging me to come out cause her truck wouldn't start. Now thinking the worst that maybe I'd need to tow her home I took my truck out of storage cause I think my little Escort might struggle what with it's slipping clutch and all. Got to her about 20 past looked at her ignition and promptly asked if she'd tried taking her truck out of drive and placing it into park, lo and behold it started.

She'd been trying to get hold of me since 8:30, when she'd had to force the keys out of the ignition.

My girlfriend asked me to take her back to the nursing home her grandad is at as her car had 'broken down the night before in the car park' she said it just wouldnt start and she had had to get her parents to come and pick her up.

Had a look at it and asked her if she had pressed the immobilser fob onto the contact on the dash.
She looked sheepish.
I pressed the immobilser in and started the engine.

She's only had the car 2 years

now if it had been left in park,whilst up to its roof in mud..whilst on road tyres....and you had no recovery equipment....and you were on your own......miles from no where, then maybe

i did this the other week when i had to use the key to do up the back window, when i got back in the truck wouldnt start and i was swearing left right and centre,(i hadnt put it in park before i switched off) and i had some ppl in the car, and we were in the middle of no where!!
i was too busy being relieved to feel stupid!
