What aerial/antenna would you recommend. This is my next project and it's been some time since i owned one. Any suggestions, recommendations. I think i'm gonna have the midland alan 78 (good write ups) and i can get one at right money. i've got the spare wheel mount so size isn't really an issue.

I just looked at that one and it seems there's no springy bit. Would that be a problem with low branches and bridges and pigeons and things?

I fitted a nice springy steel one over the weekend. Currently fitted to the front bullbar but will likely move it to the spare wheel mount at some time.
Have a look at my pics in the Mountain high River deep thread. I went with the midland 98 radio

This is the one I have got. It bends enough to not get damaged but doesn't flex enough to bang about on the bodywork or windscreen. Pulls in a good signal too. Got mine from CB trading on the M5 just south of Stroud.

I have one of these http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/orbitor.htm mounted on the rear wheel carrier. Made up an L shaped bracket which bolts on to the release lever mounts, with the aerial mounted on top. Will post pics later
