My 74 year old Dad has been after another car for a while... he wanted something with more road presence than his little Ford Fiesta in which he reckons he gets bullied by other drivers. He didn’t want anything too long as there is limited parking space at his girlfriend's house.......
So on Saturday I bought him a dark blue Toyota RAV-4 , 3-door SWB. It has only done 70,000 miles and came from a rather affluent neighbourhood (Bentleys, Porsche Cayennes in the drive ways). The owner was an airline pilot and he had used to tow his 18’ speed boat, now sold and another bought over in France instead hence the Toyota was surplus to requirements.
I drove it home and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. I know it is a “soft roader” and a maybe a bit of a girls car (so is a Ford Fiesta) but I’m sure my Dad and his girlfriend will enjoy it.
Finally got my Dad away from mediocre Fords & Vauxhall’s into something Japanese.
