What about this idea? Of course if the scoop was located further back on the hood.... ie just before the windscreen near the shockmount.

Looking for a 1993 Surf 3.0TD in MB, Canada. HELP!

        Exactly, thats all you need.
I've always thought that door mirror height is plenty high enough for a snorkel.

surley the scoop would be facing the other way. a bit of a wave up the bonnet and its all over

Having the scoop facing aft would have a detremental effect on your engine's aspiration, as the airflow over the scoop would create a negative pressure area at the opening, which would try to suck air out of your airbox....

            Not a good idea IMHO

At slow speeds it would most likely do nothing at all... but on the road it would literally be working against your turbo

              Ehhhhhh
have u red what the thread is about?
I am not making an airflow...
I am making a snorkel for going through deep-ish water....

Surely if I attach the air intake to a scoop like that I can throw the surf away after the first wave over the bonnet....
One day at the time I guess..

He was just referring to the getting the intake higher point, not the snorkel type point.
