question
Hi
Can any one advise me as i am a little worried.
I am having a very big operation on the 25th of this month and i whont be driving for a while.
approx 6 mth, what sort of maintenance will by baby need. My wife is a bity windy of driving her.
Will the engine need to be turned over, will
she need a service, will the brakes need testing ?
any help would be appreciated.

check for damp, mildew forming. In warm weather open the windows and sunroof regularly, park with the hand brake off, if it's a manual, depress the clutch a few times regularly , roll/drive the vehicle forward or back so it sits on a different area of tyre every now and then, make sure tyre pressures are kept up. fill tank right up with diesel (keep the tank from rusting inside)(don't do this with petrol engine models though), start the engine get up to operating temp and operate aircon regularly (keep pump lubricated and stop seals from drying out). seems a bit obsessive, but it'll prevent un-neccessary hassle after the lay-up period.Simon '91 2.4td ssr-x

your best bet would be to beg/bribe/entice/insist/ your wife take it out once a week for a spin. failing that have a friend who you can trust do it. but by far the best way of keeping it sound is to use it now and again.mudnstuff.me.uk
