  • Ouch!

Was looking around for places around Europe where it is legal to drive on the beach, but found this poor person's pride and joy:

I think trying to explain this to your insurance company would be hard enough, but read the column and think about the 18 year old with his Punto and 1600 quid policy who is really up sh*t creek now.

We have this problem on Weston beach but nobody bangs on about 4 x 4's and 'gas guzzlers'. What a pathetic attitude to take. a 4 x 4 just means it has 4 wheel drive - so what? And as for 'gas guzzler' this really is immature. Gas is an Americanism for fuel and if it uses more fuel than normal the owner is paying through the nose already. The reaction of people who bang on about these vehicles is typical of the socialist malaise which has ruined this country these past 11 years

It is amazing how many people jump on a bandwagon with no thought or justification following an incident - Blackpool Beach 4x4 - because it was a 4x4, and only because it was a 4x4, all 4x4 drivers are fools. and if you were so utterly insane as to buy a car more expensive than average (for whatever reason), you are definitely certifiable. Is this the politics of petty jealousy?

I don't recall who said it, but the gist was, in America, if a top of the range car was parked in a street, the young lad passing would think 'if I do well, one day I'll have one like that'. In Britain, he would curse the rich git, and pull a key along the paintwork.
    Lovely country.

Loved these two quotes, they sum up modern Britain to a tee.
