the one i was driven in was not an estate, but a saloon.it did handle really well, acceleration was good, brakes were fantastic, but it did have a poorish build quality compared to say something german,or even(sorry) one of the pool cars here... a mondeo, which whilst not being very exciting does seem to have been put together quite well. im looking forward to getting my american hire car at christmas......wondering whats going to fall off that !!

I think from your description, what you went in was a ZS, which is 'based' on the Rover 400/45 which was itself 'based' on a previous generation Honda Civic which was first released in 1992. The MG makeover for the interior of all models was basically replacing what was there already with slightly different plastics to make it look more sporty, so the ZS has an early 90s Japanese dash.
The ZT is 'based' on the Rover 75, which was first released less than ten years ago,was designed around an unused BMW front wheel drive platform and was supposed to compete with the Jag S Type so is generally plusher inside.
What I mean is, my glovebox shuts.
Anyway, someone buy the batmobile.
