I've been looking at the Albuquerque jobs pages again... 360 days of sunshine a year in New Mexico, loads of desert to play in.
Aircraft instrumentation engineers required at Albuquerque Sunport (what they call their airport) $80k a year... Cheap land prices, low cost of living...
The more I think about it, the more appealing it sounds. Unfortunately, ties to the UK prevent it at the moment.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

Dunno, but you could probably do truck driver / electrician / plant operator for twice what you get in the UK.
I believe getting a work visa is the difficult bit these days. A mate of mine has a job offer with one of the big defence companies, but he hasn't got a Visa yet despite applying for the last two years.
Apparently, Microsoft sucked them all up this year, and they only give out a certain amount each year. Once they're gone, thats it til next year.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

ive yet to see that film 3-10 to yuma. have you seen it? ive got the remake.
i dont understand how the people live in places that hot. it was so bad, you hope the wind dont blow because its like being blown with a hair dryer.
if you get a hair dryer on hot, and hold it up to your face, thats what its like. ive been keeping an eye on their weather as its supposed to be raining there this time of year. its 6:30am there now and its still 88F
ive not really said much about my trip, but what an experience. i was in phoenix for 10 days, and had a hummer for the whole time. felt like a propper yank, and enjoyed every minute
once i forgot what side of the road i was supposed to be on, and made a turn infront of someone and slammed the brakes on cos i remembered, and they didnt even bother. just kindly let me go.
rarely see an old banger, but when you do its still some crazy old V8 that sounds the nuts, even if it does backfireOh Nana, what's my name?

Yeah, driving's great out there. Most people are really chilled. I've driven all over the place from NY and Boston to Arizona, New Mexico, California etc etc.
No-one seems to get worked up about anything. I dont think they've heard of road rage!
We were working at YPG when I was at Yuma. One local guy said when it rains, they get chairs out and sit outside. I asked him when it last rained properly (it was August 2006 when I was last there) and he said November....
