If you see a spam/porn thread starting, don't reply to it, it only keeps it 'live' and other people get curious and look/reply, ad infinitum.


Just PM one or all the moderators immediately.

Fine but i like them to know we have reported them .....they do hang around and watch ..........


Would it not be better to get all new posts vetted . it would need a decicated mod but we would not get this current attack this is the forth or fifth in 24 hours

too many members, too active a forum, masybe vet the first ffive posts or siomething if the forum suopports it before they are made live, othwrisew i'm with vince, despite replying tro the last spammer, and repoerting them wityh the bad post icon.

You're missing the point which Bio and Vince are making Ian. Mods logging in and getting rid several hours later is pretty useless when your kids can access a forum which supposedly only has family oriented content upon it.

all 4 mods/admin have logged in in the last 30hrs, i don't think that's unreasonable at all. are we getting ott many hts on google or something, maybe, but what are the mods expecgted to do, too many mods = too much cmoderatin nd a lot fo the regulars would dissappear to matt's foruijm, leading this [lace to a slow and painful; death, no one wants trhat !.

maybe whatever bug stos you postin a thread with 'surf' in the title could be used to stop yuo postin a threasd with 'sex' in the title, but i don't think there's a lot more that could be done tbh. maybe turn of the [img[ cosde tags by default, which would mean to use gthem tyou'd have to select a check box in each post with them in, wouldn't necessarily stop porn/spam, but might hel to sto pit being displayed to innocent eyes. (s if there's any og trhem rered this foorum )

They are about more than they were (mtb billy era) but there is only 4 with the power to sort it out and that would mean 6 hour shifts each .........


so how would they have a job , social life ,etc. the forum runs on a shoestring buget as it is .......

It's unfortunate that the offending posts happen during the day more than late at night when they would be tollerated untill a mod logged in the next day

I have been very vocal about this in the past but understand that we donot want to over restrict the forum but at the same time need the control .........the mudclub have overmoderated theirs and it ruins it
