outboard motor help

anyone have a clue about outboards???

got a little Tohatsu 8hp 2stroke (M8B) motor... it desn't appear to have an air filter!!

there's an airbox type thing on it, but nowhere to put a filter... where is it?... surely it needs one??

None of the outboards I have had have had an air filter, even from new. I suppose there's not enough dust to worry about at sea

i just looked up a complete parts list and there's nothing listed... just an "air silencer", which is the bit i've got.
