Need advice for buying second hand HiLux

I`m really keen to buy a Toyota Hilux pickup (diesel).
I`ll have about £2000 to spend.
Will I get anything decent for this , and is there anything I should look out for when buy second hand?

If I remember right Top Gear paid only £800 for their hi lux pick up and found it almost indestuctable. Tourched, had a caravan dropped on it, hit with a wrecking ball, chained down in an estuary, recovered half burried in sand after being washed out of the estuary, run off a cliff and still drove into the studio under its own power!!!

speak to TonyN about the pickup... he ran one for years.

they're slightly different from the surf, different engine options etc.

But it's a diesel Toyota...What better recommendation do you need. Have a look on www.ebay.co.uk or www.autotrader.co.uk at the various models available. Parts are freely available too.
