I learnt to tow years ago when working in the adventure industry. I never had a problem but it was always a minibus towing a kayak trailer and so the vehicle always far outweighed the trailer.

One year I went on holiday with friends and we'd arranged to share the driving towing a trailer tent. But blow me I just couldn't manage the outfit on the road. I began to snake and was getting into all sorts of grief whilst my pal had no problem. Now looking back I know the car and trailer were mismatched and the trailer tent badly loaded but what it did show just because a skilled driver can tow an outfit doesn't mean an inexperienced one like me could!

    You live and learn.

I've just been chatting to a mate who tows a twin axle trailer & horses with a Landcruiser and he suspects that the rig was stable enough but that the horses might have started playing silly buggers which could make life very difficult if the driver wasn't that experienced at towing.

Life is too important to take seriously !
