    1) Amber sidelights, I thought they were all fine an dandy!? Thrown the old ones out..

Amber is for indicators, not sidelights.

it will still be class4, they probably couldnt fit it on the ramp or jack it up or something stupid like that, so sent it too class 4/7 station with bigger equipment.

My amber sidelights passed, and the tester was extremely anal.

It could possibly be legal, but the best methodology to stick to with lights is to not use any of the reserved colours for non-specific uses. Leave your ambers and reds alone, and you should be fairly safe otherwise, (apart from specific colouring/positioning laws). It's a simple method for not biting your own arse.

He possibly mistook them for indicators?

How do LandRover Discoverys get away with it then?

Mate, you don't want a class 7 test. I never had any hassle getting my pickup MOT'ed. That was on 35's and 7ish inches of lift.

                            Class 7 is commercial vehicles 3000 - 3499kg GVW

If a vehicle has a GVW under 3500kg, an unladen weight under 2040kg, has four wheel drive and is equipped to carry one or more passengers (including the front seats) then it is a 'dual purpose' vehicle for MoT purposes and should be tested as class 4.
Plus Class 7 is more money!!

Bl**dy hope its just a case of using a class 7 test center then!!!!

Im hoping it was just a case of the truck being too tall by the time it was on the lift. Romsey is a bit of a ye olde town! *keeping my fingers crossed*

Im still really pished about the amber sidelights!
Like Vince said, Discos have them! volvos are plastered in amber lights!!

I gotta hunt down a set tomorrow if i can.. other wise id better chuck a tube of lube in the truck so the MOT tester can pull the stick outta his a$$
