everything seems alright,running fine heater needle staying on half, bottom of rad quite warm when i took her down motorway.got home checked 4 leaks none exspansion tank half full but top hose hot and solid any idears anyone

Top hose should get quite firm in normal use. Did it pull the excess back from the expansion tank as it cooled? Was the coolant level okay under the cap once the engine had cooled down? If the system was over pressurising, it would most likely have popped a leak somewhere, so I wouldn't worry too much, personally, provided everything appeared okay as mentioned above.
Btw, if the rad cap has no markings or anything on it, replace it as a precaution.

cheers everyone sorry its took so long to get back,took her out for a run,up and down m60.got back just checked everything exspansion tank half full same as when i left,no leaks anywere,needle on temp staying just under half way,so hopefully nothing to worry about,checked all advise given.getting new rad cap tommorow,it must just pressure up that way cheers everyone.NEVER GIVE UP SHES WORTH IT*
