Well, after the discovery on my last surf that fixing the lights directly into the roof wasn't such a great plan, i fabbed up some brackets and fitted them to a light bar this time round.
By fabbed i mean cut some aluminium angle from B&Q to length to sit inside the lights existing brackets, drilled it so i could bolt the lights to one side and screwed the other side of the angle into the roof bar. I wanted to leave the centre of the bar free of wires, so as to be able to fit uprights to the bar and therefore still carry 4 kayaks on it, provided the 8 holes in the side of the bar hasn't reduced the strength of the bar drastically, i can't see it would have affected it that much, but time will tell and we'll see after a few loads have been carried on it.
Well, here it is what do you guys reckon?
