I'd like some unbiased opinions on DAB radio in the car please .
Been thinking of upgrading my old ICE in time for summer
I thought dab was supposed to give clear reception all over the UK but a seller on ebay reckons reception is poor in the Lake District ?
Also I was thinking of fitting a DVD head unit , as it's hard to get these with dab , what to people think of the aftermarket add-on dab units available to expand your system ?

It costs about £40 on ebay for a similar add-on , but whats the point if reception is no good ?

        DAB Radio

        Hi there,

I have a PURE Highway(£70) in my truck and the sound is fantastic! Gives a great range of stations. It's an add on that sticks to the 'screen like a satnav and it also works with the original Jap stereo. There are some areas where the signal is weak and it can be lost but the same thing happens with FM. I haven't tried it in the Lake District yet but every time I've driven through there the FM signal's pi$$ poor too!

Same as mobile phones mate, if there's something there to block the signal then that's it, poor reception! Even with DAB it's still just a radio signal.
