i got pc problems again (well wife problems)
when i first fell ill with my belly my wife thought it was a good idea to have a clear out (ya know how women are)
well she says that she has not moved nothing but
i can not find my data disks for formatting my pc
so when i clean up my pc i can not find the right disks to stop virus's from hitting my pc
at this moment in time iam a sitting duck for any virus

i have about 15 virus's at the moment
    mainly one called 0

my mate kids clicked yes to a virus thats loaded its self in dos

i can not run nothing in dos
my email checks the floppy disk drive first? (thats quite good)
un sighns me from the forums plus youtube and everything alike
my pc keeps restarting on its own (so its hard to post)

so it looks like my pc is dieing again
so if i can not find my disks it will cost my money to replace them
and if thats the case i will upset the wife by getting the biggest and best pc i can find at the highest price i can find
bet ya my disks turn up then

2 weeks i have sercth the house for them disks

i think they have been thrown away
so thats why i have been quiet
iam on line but have to mess to stay sighned in
am not die lex sick its you that cant read mate

    George,

If you can break away from Windows you can order Linux CDs for free

It's 1 cd, and you can tell it to take up all the hard drive.

It is easier to load than Windows, and the ruddy updates are far easier to install than Windows - far less reboots required.

I'm still quite new to Linux, but there are others here who can help out when needed.

George - I've got a copy of Suse Linux you can have - bought it, used it and got bored of it - but it's good, just don't add or move disks, including CD drives once it's installed.........unless you know how to change Kernel parameters - which I don't!

messing with kernel is a pain weather its kernel drivers or parameters

you can use AVG free, but on the whole I have found the program to be lacking after advocating it some time ago.

I changed over to NOD32 from eset, but have found this still misses some virus and tracking cookies. Best software i have come across to-date is Spyware Doctor - after performing various test with each software it found far more stuff than any of the others.
