  • Failed on Exhaust

As my Surf failed the MOT today due to a few splits in the Exhaust pipe and its a custom made exhaust, there are a few questions I would like answered (if any one knows the answers)
Can the exhaust legally exit from the side ie. just in front of the back wheel.
(Thinking of eliminating fumes coming in back window) is this the best place
If I go for a twin can I have them coming out both sides.
What sort of price would I be looking at. (ball park)

A couple of the members here have used a modified transit exhaust to get it to exit just under the rear passenger door.

yup, it can, but must clear anybody work. you could have twins, but the toehr side would be under the fuel tank, which is low anyway, you'd always be clumping it.

It can exit at the back wheel as I have seen a few like that.

wunoff in bradford quoted me £600 for a twin silencer system both to exit infront of the rear wheels. I think there are much cheaper prices to be had though

Now that looks a great idea 'cos it will free-up the underneath spare wheel section for a long range fuel tank. Has anyone done that and whats involved?
If it ain't fun it ain't worth doing!

£350 is what it cost for mine - replacement for stock system from downpipes back. Exits just behind OSR wheel.
