If you're going to strip it anyway take the cams off and turn it over on the starter

NO NO NO , Bodie and Doyle made one out of a piece of lino for a landrover in the Professionals . It lasted till the end of the road and blew the guts out the head .

If it is an early V12 (carbed one not Fuel Injected then you can pretty much guarantee it's a 35, also if it came out of a Daimler Double 6, an E type or an early XJS then it's probably a 35, think the 65 was only in the later XJS and V12 XJs.

            Cheers

I presume that is the 1986 D reg not the 1966 D reg.

                Cheers

                  Doh.

Stupid mistake, they didn't make the V12 in 1966 so must be the other one.

                  Cheers

James - is there a pic of the gearbox??? That's what Tony's after, gearbox and transfer case. If as Lucky says is a BW 35 then we're definately very keen on having it!!!

                    Cheers M8

Is the round thing I have photographed not something to do with the gearbox?

If not I can probably get them for you as I had first choice on what parts I wanted and no one else has taken anything off it yet to my knowledge.

The round thing is the torque converter and we'd like that please. The gearbox and transfer case isn't shown in the pics but if you can get it it would be great, hopefully as Lucky said it will be a BW 35!!!

                        Thank you!

You are welcome to the torque converter, maybe the Surf postal service could help

I will make a couple of calls about the gearbox and let you know if they still have it.

James - you are a star... If they have the transfer case as well as the gearbox that would be even better!!

If the postal system can't help then a trip to my aunt and uncle's cottage in Shropshire for the weekend may have to be arranged!!

                            Cheers

Ok no problem, I am going to start stripping in next few days and will hopefully have most off within 2 - 3weeks, I will be in London in 4 or 5 weeks so if you can't get up here I may be-able to drop somewhere.

I can't get hold of the guy I have been dealing with I will keep trying today though.
