  • Should it stay or should it go :-(

    Hi all

I am facing the question i did not want to have to ask myself...

Should i sell my beloved surf or should i keep it

Fuel costs are just killing me - £70 a week just to take the kids to school and visit my horses 6 miles down the road. The price is £1.32 a litre near me and rising every day - don't know how much longer i can afford it

The trouble is i love it so much and don't want to sell it

The other trouble is we have just bought a touring caravan so will still need to have a fairly hefty car for towing

    So what do you reckon

    A) sell the surf and buy a 2.0 estate car to use all the time

    B) keep it and buy a cheap 1.0 car for school runs and just use the surf for longer runs and special occasions?

    or

    F) Go to Downing Street and complain about fuel costs (with some power tools for extra persuasion)

    Tis a sad day

Well, I'd go for drilling out Gordon Browns gonads with a rusty masonery drill, AND buy a 900cc Peugeot 205, but keep the truck.

F - and take everyone with you that you know, that has been forced into the same decision, been made redundant, had the cost of living increased out of proportion to any remuneration back to them, and try and get this government to listen, once and for all, to all the people it is crippling - the same people they rely on for their money are the people that are all getting to the same position, there won't be many people able to pay for fuel soon, so where next for their money grabbing, theiving and devisive ways to cripple the percentage of the nation that has to work out whether they can affort to get to work OR pay the mortgage.....

                1. You'll lose money selling the Surf

                2. Any 2.0l car that's OK for towing a van will doubtless fall foul of Uncle Gordon's revenue extraction policy to a far greater extent than the Surf

So the answer's got to be B (And if you decide to visit Downing Street make sure you take the right materials with you - a large quantity of commercial fertiliser will be a good start)

Waste of time. They dont care. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

People wont be able to move about, or get together in groups. Its about control.

Let's all meet at Gordon's house about 11 in the morning

Will that be like carbon trading where you can sell off unused allowances?

I'd deffo not be able to afford to run the truck then...

i'm thinking about saddling up one of my horses and riding him to work, leave him in the garden during the day and ride home again. I only just bought the Surf but it's eating me out of house and home with £70 diesel a week.
