I Do'nt understand

These are my answer with no help just out of my head

The first riddle i would stay in the attic
The second one it must have been a different dad who got killed
And the third i dont understand

Fuses

You have in your possession two fuses; the classic burning kind used for detonating dynamite, and also a box of matches. Each fuse burns for exactly one hour but the burning process is completely erratic making it impossible to determine how much time is left simply by looking at the fuse.
Your task is to time exactly forty five minutes.
How do you do it?

How do you do it?

LIGHT BULBS.
Turn two switches on, wait for a while, turn one of them off.
Walk down to the basement and feel both of the off lights bulbs.
The one which is warm is the one you have just switched off :-)
The others are obvious.

THE SON
The surgeon is his mother!!

FUSES
Ignite one of the fuses at both ends. At the same time ignite the other fuse at one end only.
When the first fuse burns out ignite the other end of the second fuse.
When the second fuse burns out forty five minutes has elapsed.

All 3 caught me out!!!! Try them on dad, and your teacher!

I THINK THEY WERE A BIT TO TRICKY FOR ME!!!!!!!! BUT THANKS
