  • Finally got it

Well, still no SVA, but got the train to Bristol and drove my baby home! (put the chassis number in the back window). Have worked out what all the buttons and knobs do, except one. A little red rectangular button on the trim at the base of the gear shift (auto), thought it might be an ejector seat but couldn't read the Japanese script. Wow, actually overtook some beamers & mercs, love the ECT!

PS Anyone have a cure for a permanent smile

The button you are talking about could be the shift lock system. If you dont apply the brake or ignition is in the LOCK or ACC position you wont be able to move the shift lever.

If the foot brake has been applied and the shift lever wont move check the shift lock switch

Good looking truck Martin I don't normally go for 3rd gens but I love the silver and chrome. I must be a reincarnated showmans traction engine driver.

              Seriously though- enjoy it!

                  Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, I kinda like it too. I can assure Kitesurf Phil that it pulls about the same as a traction engine, but boy does it go faster! SVA came today, after I had left for work, so will post it all off tomorrow. As I have a few days in hospital next week I should be able to take it on the road (legally, not that I have been driving it illegally you understand!!!) when I come out. I'll post a bit about Algy's Autos over the weekend and the difference between using an importer and buying from a dealer.

                  Cheers all
