Strange Rubbing Noise

Hi All

I was driving my surf today with the window open as it was a nice day and when I turn into a bend, I can hear a type of rubbing noise coming from the wheel area I think. There is no vibration or anything in the sterring wheel. Has anyone else come across this problem? I couldn't see anything untoward when I checked underneath.

Does it happen on left & right bends, what tyres you running, could be tyre noise on the road, my MT's make a slight noise on hard cornering.
Try different speeds on the corners.

The rubbing sound only happens when I turn left. I think that the steering idler arm is on the blink, it seems to have a lot of play in it. The noise is coming from the drivers side wheel area.

steering idler arm is on the passenger side the pitman arm is on the drivers side

I'll have to have another look underneath tomorrow. It's very strange as the only thing I can see thats untoward is the idler arm.
