mmm i see. so if they move about freely when u move the rubber back and forth it means they r guffed

Im kinda hoping that may have been the case abit. The truck had no service history so who knows what was done an when!

Is it ok to drive it?! I'm thinking "no"

Apart from making a mess, if you're not dunking it muddy puddles or dusty dirt roads it'll be OK for a while, especially in dry weather.

If crap has already got in there, the joint is probably already on its way to being gubbed anyhow. Get some gaffer tape or suchlike on temporarily to stop it chucking grease all over, and just get a new joint and boot ordered.

Cling film on first then tape. But they are easy to change and cheap to buy so get it done. Then splash out on some lovely warn manuals.

You should be able to get them a damned sight cheaper than that. Unless they have just generally jumped up in price.
