Well when I got home from work at 3 o’clock on Friday (started at 5, by the way) I thought with it being such a nice day I would wire up the tow bar, but I wanted to do it properly so I stripped out the trim in the back including seat belts, I also wanted to run a more permanent supply in for the fog lamp (dodgy importer install) so it was much easier to strip everything out.
Once all wired in and the new fog light cable in and a couple of spare cables for future use and the aux power supply in the rear (fag lighter) I had a thought, why not carry on with the strip out and drop the head lining and fit the roof bars, by this time it was around 5 o’clock (starting to cloud over, could be a bad move)
So once all the trim was out it was time for the sun roof or as the Japanese would say “moon roof” OMG that was heavy, How the hell will I get it back in on my own!!, but to late to worry now as it was already out, measured up and drilled the holes for the roof bars and it fitted, bolted it all down and I had all the right size bolts and the right amount of washers 2” diameter rubber backed. All went back together a dream, and all done for 7 o’clock (apart from the trim as I wanted to take it all in the house and wash it, its os good to have all the right tools to do the job.
This is what she looked like on the Friday afternoon
And this is what she looked like on the Saturday afternoon, with four new (second hand wheels and tires)
Saturday was spent refitting trim and replacing bolts that someone couldn’t be bothered with.
Not bad for a days work, even the tow bar works.
