I have never been comfortable walking round behind a horse, specially when they move onto the other foot. I once got kicked on my outer upper thigh by a horse. I was walking my dog along a lane, a small girl was being led by her mum on a big horse, i held the dog and as they strolled by, then when the horse back legs were next to us, the horse obviously spooked by the dog just kicked out and as i was in between the dog and the horse i got the good news. Ever since then, i try to stay infront. Though i dont mind standing next to horses, so long as im near the body or front legs, not too far back.
