Advantages ( if you consider them as such ) You can have your own custom AVATAR. You can do the PM thing, but the primary advantage and really the only one that matters to me, is the warm fuzzy feeling you get knowing that you are helping towards upkeep of the forum. Just think of all the valuable help and knowledge that would be lost to us all if it folded, which is probably what it would do if nobody contributed. Theres no big industrial megalith behind this forum, its all being done by a couple of enthusiasts ( saddo,s ) and I dont think they make money from it. ( I think it actually costs them ) As others have said, you can soon recoup your costs by doing your own fault finding, maintenance and repairs, upgrades, based on advice gleaned from this forum, so go on cough up, you know its worth it.

Ive been lurking,occasionally but not saying much as Ive been away a lot and had either no internet or slow internet. Had a couple of months in Singapore and am currently in Angola, but if you hit Sweaty land next year and Im at home I,ll happily buy you pint.

BTW, Do I really come across as cranky ? I thought that was Matts job, I had the idea that I would come across as windswept and interesting, maybe be seen as a wit and raconteur of better than average intelligence.
