tailgate struts

i have searched the threads but cant find any info.

the struts on my 3rd gen tailgate are sticking and need replacing.

any ideas of cost and suppliers.

by the way my 2nd gen was better than my 3rd gen but as my son bought the beast at least i still have visiting rights:

And meanwhile, back on the thread.....Nina's are very stiff, well the left more so than the right, and I wondered if you could get longer ones as the tailgate could do with going up a bit more....

This must be a common fault, my struts are giving up the ghost too. Can't say I'd rate a 2nd over a 3rd tho.....

As I was writing this, I thought - hmmm, Matts on this thread, Matt will pick this up, and oh - my - GAWD!!!

I'm not saying any more, other than we could benefit from a little less stiffness on the upper limits of the raise.......

i preferred the 2nd gen to my 3rd because it felt unstoppable, solid, sat on the road like glue and i dont know what it was but the sound of the engine when pulling away sounded awsome.

the 3rd gen yes is bigger ,has airbags, but it is like a bouncy castle when driving on pot holed dual carraigeways, it rattles for england on same roads, so next week all new springs and shocks , so hopefully that will sort it, but still love this surf also .

now what about these tailgate struts??????????????????
