wifes rover

iam bord and skint run out of bits to do to keep me amused now
fixed everything i can cleaned everything out
cant do anything on the garden or shed no funds

SO


iam going to attack my wifes dead rover
its a soft top thing (i hate it)
i think by what iam told that its eather the krak that has shatted or its seased
its a 1600 honda engine
no idea i was ill when it happened

i have no clue what iam doing has i hate petrol engines
so it will give me something to do
and learn
so if there is any one out there that knows about this type of thing
just let me know what not to do
coz if not iam sure i will do it
i will attack it in the morning yes attack its eather dead or its going to be fixed
i need the space on the drive too

so if anyone knows about these rover honda engines please let me know

First thing to do is remove the cover to see if the timing belt has snapped.

thats it thats all thats ever been said about it
love way to descripe how it went
the wife is great with descriptions

i came out of the hozzy to find it knocking a bit
so i looked at the oil
there was nothing in it at all
so i told her to sort it out
after about a mounth
she phoned me to say it stoped working it went bang and stoped
i got it back home and looked at the oil again to find
it was about 2"inch over the max mark
so i have no idea if the oil was put there after it went bang or not
she would not tell me anyway
but there is way too much in

i'm guessin it's a 216?if i was you,go to breakers matey,you will pick up a low mile engine couple of hundred tops,breakers are littered with them

yep coz a soft top rover are just skips on wheels
i think its a 216
its poo anyway

ok i did what was siad on here
and all was good
so i looked a bit deeper in to it
and found the oil to be a funny looking
so i took the sump nut out to drain the oil out

are you ready for this it made me laff any how

there was 3ltr's of green weater come out first?
no idea what gone wrong there
then 5.5ltr's of mucky oil

women and cars eh

the engine will not turn over at all it just clunks
so it sounds like its seased to me
so just out of wanting to know i put it in gear and pushed it with the surf
i have a tyre that hooks on front of the surf for shoving
the tyres just shoved back its is seased solid with out a dowt

so should i fix it or get something else?
i hate it but she loves it
what do you think guys?

oh dear ive seen that done a few times lolol,tbh honest mate,comes down to how much she likes it,if it hasnt gone rotten,and roof is in good nick,then fix it,or maybe find a rotter and swap engine?ive always liked the escort cabs,but its that tyime of year so rough ones seem to make good money,ill have a look sea on fleabay........
