Not quite off topic for a change ......
I seem to vaguely recall that, during the development of Concorde, they fitted a single RR engine to the bottom of a Vulcan and when it was airborne switched off the Vulcan's engines and just ran on the RR engine .......
Damned impressive on two counts methinks !

But yes, the RR Olympus was fitted to a Vulcan and as you say, kept it aloft with the four Avons fitted to the Vulcan at flight idle. Impressively powerful engine!
mind you, the Vulcan would probably have maintained flight on one of itsown engines, such was the nature of it. It did after all have a bl00dy huge wing area!Cutting steps in the roof of the world
