i dont think it is the pump as it looses electrical feed to the pump.

what controls how much fuel the ECU decides to inject?

What did you do to your truck in the first place to cause your problem?
      i changed the engine

i know i have one connection at the back of the bulkhead that is off but i haven't had any spare time to look at it. it must be a simple connection somewhere

I replaced the head and the gearbox while i was at it. then just tried to start for the first time few weeks back and this. have had many a mechanic come to look at it and now they all hate me cos they wont rest till they can know what is wrong. in the last 2 weeks i think i must have read nearly every thread on this site as im stuck at home with out the truck and ive found about 6 more cases of this, one from changing the engine and 4 from changing the head and 1 newbie dint say how he got to the situation and nor did he reply to everyones help.

Yer but this is coming off fine, it only prevents starter motor from turning not injection system

Then it's either the pump thats faulty, or the injector pipes have been fitted to it incorrectly.

but theres no electric feed to the pump with the ignition on, when u crank the engine it gets about 6 volts but noting unless cranking. so wouldn't a new pump still not get current to it?

Must be the spill control valve on the pump. It only needs 6volts to activate, 12volts would probably cook it!

Try fitting an earth wire from the pump body to the truck body and see if that makes a difference.
