It seems alot of people have had the problem i'm having previously looking back over the old threads, i've gone through them all in the last week i think, like this one http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...t=vacuum+pipes
but none of them have any answers. does this mean all of these people have never managed to fix this fault? im been vehicle less for 4 weeks now and everyone is truely stumped, are there any really good Toyota mechanics you can recommend who i can just trust to fix it and pay them in Cambridgeshire?

i forgot to mention i have now tried 3 ECUs and its the same with all of them, batteries are fully charged, No air in fuel, Timing is perfect, glow plugs get power and heat up fine, changed injectors tried no air filter, changed fuel in tank. It is really getting me down now as i dont like being beaten by vehicles
thanx for all your help guys

What problems are you having exactly,
      Won't start?
      Won't run/idle?
      Won't rev?
      Starts and dies?

It starts and runs lumpy with lots of smoke but as soon as you let go of the key so it turns back to the ignition section no fuel flows so it just dies.

Any chance of rewriting that so that it makes sense?

its always feasable you have done something to it,but yes they can just fail,(mine did).i cant remember what the exact voltage is but you need a bout 4 or 5 volts to the back of the pump, via its electrical connection,(is this all together),if all mechanical and electrical connections are sound, pull the fault codes.(use the search facility on here to find out how to do it)

i shall try. Right when i try to start the surf, with the starer motor turning the engine fires up and revs but with lots of smoke. now as soon as you let go off the key though so it drops back one click to the ignition on position the engine gets no fuels and just dies.

                    ,

Ive pulled the fault codes and i get a flash then a 4 second gap then another flash and this repeats constantly, i see this as fault code 1, which means its showing no registered fault?

As for the pump feed it gets voltage when the starter motor is turning but no voltage in ignition.

Have you tried priming the filter before starting her?

All primed, when cranking plenty of fuel is getting to injectors

it seems as if the problem is pump related.

Ive got the same problem with my brothers truck, but haven't got around to sorting it, don't think its the pump, if you put power to the solanoid it will probably start and rev high like mine, probably a bad connection somewhere

yer does just that and in previous threads ive read from 4 years ago they had the same problem but no1 ever posted an answer. Has ne1 managed to shed any light on your problem? my parents are getting really annoyed at the truck blocking half the drive and never moving now.
