That's just LPG fumigation - gives slightly better MPG but not a conversion. You need petrol for a full conversion. If you are going down that road, there are (or at least were) two petrol 3rd gens in the for sale section. Petrol surfs are much cheaper than diesel to buy.

That was my thought, actualy it included a V8 petrol Landcruiser....

Veg is nearly as much as deisel but lpg is still around 60p per liter!

I am now going to struggle to run the surf as I drive over 20,000 miles a year and have used anything up to £400 in one week on deisel. The minimum I spend is about £100 per week on fuel.

But i have no intention on buying a smart car! sorry for swearing! I like my leg room too much

It was ok untill veg shot up last week

I dont think the lexus V8 is that heavy on fuel mate....

Vince will be able to give expected Mpg figures.

                      True,

Is there anything added to the autogas (i.e any die like in red deisel) and does it have the same calorific value as lpg for heating?

You can probably guess what im thinking!

                        Ken is at it again

                        * Further to the Mayors recent congestion charge announcement the 100 per cent Alternative Fuel Discount (AFD) will be closed to new registrations, and phased out by January 2010.

This means all environmentaly friendly vehicles will have to pay the congestion charge!

                          Two things:

                          1. I agree that petrol and LPG may be the way to go. I sold my V6 for 700 quid in the end. It was quicker and quieter than a diesel that would have been at least a grand more, so would have paid back on the LPG pretty quickly for anyone who used it as a daily drive, and would be better to drive too.

                          2. As I always point out, the congestion charge covers such a tiny area that it's insignificant and there is no need to drive into it in order to get through London or to any of the suburbs. It just keeps the middle a little bit clearer for all the buses and taxis to do their thing. Anyone that lives within it is rich anyway and gets a 90% discount.
